A 63-year-old Wiarton man is dead after a collision east of Keady on Wednesday morning.
Bruce John Marler was pronounced dead at hospital in Owen Sound after he was taken there following the collision at the intersection of Grey Rd. 16 and where Con. 5 in the former Derby Twp. meets Con. 6 in the former Sullivan Twp.
The Wiarton man was the driver of a 2009 Jeep Patriot that was northbound on Con. 6. When it went through the intersection the Jeep was struck by a 2011 Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck that was eastbound on Grey Rd. 16. Grey County OPP received the report of the two-vehicle collision just after 10 a.m., it said in a news release from police.
A female passenger in the Jeep was taken to hospital with unknown injuries, while the driver of the pickup, a 45-year-old Port Elgin man, and three passengers in the pickup were taken to hospital with minor injuries.
Grey Rd. 16 was closed from Conc. 3 west to Conc. 7 and Conc. 5 of the former Derby Twp. was closed north to S.R. 3, but was later reopened
The OPP technical traffic collision investigation unit was at the scene investigating.
Police said later that they don't expect to lay charges.
