Teens rescued from riverbank

Two teenagers had to be rescued after they got stuck while trying to climb the clay bank of the Saugeen River on Saturday.

The two teens called 911 when they got stuck and the South Bruce OPP and Brockton Fire Department responded, locating the boys near the north end of Walkerton, South Bruce OPP said in a news release on Wednesday.

The teens were stuck about two-thirds of the way up a clay bank that was about 200 feet high. Firefighter were able to lift the boys to safety using ropes and no injuries were reported at the scene, police said in the news release.
