An Ayton woman who was involved in a collision, with a one-year-old child in the vehicle, has been charged with impaired driving.
On Friday just before 3:30 p.m., Grey Bruce OPP were dispatched to the collision involving a grey car at Grey Road 3 near the Bentinck-Sullivan Townline in Chatsworth.
The driver and the one-year-old passenger were taken by Bruce County Paramedics to hospital, police said in a news release.
Police went to the hospital to confirm the driver and the child had no injuries. The driver was given a breath test, which registered a fail, indicating more than 80 milligrams of alcohol in 100 millilitres of blood, the release said.
The driver was then taken to the South Bruce OPP detachment in Walkerton where further tests indicated there was twice the legal limit of alcohol in her blood.
The 25-year-old woman has been charged with impaired driving and driving with an alcohol concentration over the legal limit.
She is scheduled to appear in court in Owen Sound on Oct. 10.
The child was picked up at the hospital by a family member, the news release said.
