Collingwood home invasion suspect sought

Police would like the public’s help locating a third suspect involved in a home invasion in Collingwood Dec. 19.

Collingwood/The Blue Mountains OPP issued a news release Tuesday about the home invasion with photos of a Honda Civic, about which police are seeking information.

Police said three males forced their way into a home and began a prolonged assault with what looked like a firearm on a resident in the dwelling on Fair Street in Collingwood about 10 p.m. Dec. 19.

“Once inside they proceeded to continue assaulting the resident, tied his hands and feet and threatened him repeatedly with what appeared to be a firearm. The males subsequently made off with an undisclosed amount of cash prior to police arrival.”

The victim, who suffered minor injuries, went to a neighbour’s residence, where police were called.

Police the same day located two men, a 20-year-old from Scarborough and 43-year-old from Collingwood, in a vehicle on Cameron Street. They’re both charged with possession of weapons for a dangerous purpose, pointing a firearm, break and enter, robbery using a firearm, forcible confinement, assault with a weapon and uttering threats.
