Earthquake recorded in South Bruce Peninsula

Natural Resources Canada says a 2.1-magnitude earthquake was recorded about 14.1 kilometres north of Wiarton, near Hope Bay.

The agency’s seismographs measured the quake at 5:19 p.m. Friday.

Natural Resources Canada says earthquakes with a magnitude of less than 3.5 on the Richter scale are recorded on local seismographs, but are generally not felt.

Some people were reporting on social media Saturday that the quake was felt in Lion’s Head and Neyaashiinigmiing.
