Police are trying to track down two firearms after they were stolen from a sea container in Southgate earlier this month.

Sometime between Oct. 10 and Oct. 24 a residence and a sea container were broken into at a property on Southgate Road 24.

The door of the sea container was pried open, a gun safe was entered and the two firearms were stolen, Grey Bruce OPP said in a news release.

The guns are described as a Beretta semi-automatic 12 gauge Ducks Unlimited special edition with a 28-inch barrel, and a Ruger .22 caliber All Weather 10/22 synthetic black rifle with a stainless steel barrel.

The investigation is ongoing and police are asking for the public’s assistance in finding the guns or anyone connected to the theft.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Grey Bruce OPP at 1-888-310-1122 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477. A web tip can be made at www.cstip.ca
