Local COVID-19 case reported in health-care worker

A 12th confirmed case of COVID-19 has been recorded in the region, according to the Grey Bruce Health Unit’s situation report Tuesday.

The new case is awoman in her 30s and for the first time, the case involves a health-care provider working in Grey-Bruce. Details about the woman’s role in the health-care field were not available.

There are still no cases reported locally in long-term care facilities.

Ten negative test results were received in the past 24 hours, and people are waiting an estimated average of seven to eight days to receive tests from the lab.

Ontario reported 260 more COVID-19 cases Tuesday, for a total of nearly 2,000 in the province. The 1,966 cases Ontario has seen include 33 deaths and 534 that are resolved.

About 11 per cent of people confirmed to have COVID-19 in Ontario have been hospitalized.
