Grey Bruce OPP was dispatched at 6:36 p.m. Tuesday after the boy walked away from a residence on Mapleport Crescent in Sauble Beach. Police searched the area to no avail.

Just after midnight Tuesday officers in an OPP helicopter saw the boy in a wooded area within a kilometre of the residence and directed officers on the ground to his location, where he was found safe, a police news release said early this morning.

“Grey Bruce OPP would like to thank the public and our community partners, South Bruce Peninsula Fire Department and Saugeen First Nation Fire Department for their assistance with this search.”
