The condition of a 17-year-old boy has been upgraded from life-threatening to serious after a house fire in South Bruce Peninsula on Tuesday morning.
The Office of the Ontario Fire Marshal continued to investigate the blaze on Wednesday, after the home on Spry Lake Road was completely destroyed by the fire.
South Bruce Peninsula said in a news release on Tuesday that they were dispatched to the fire just before 4 a.m. Three people were located inside the residence, while a fourth was in a second structure on the property.
The 17-year-old boy was in the home along with a 44-year-old man and a 48-year-old woman, while an 18-year-old woman was in the second structure, OPP Const. Adam Belanger said.
The South Bruce Peninsula Fire Department and Bruce County Paramedics also attended the scene and all the occupants were taken to hospital for treatment. Two were suffering from smoke inhalation, while a third suffered burns.
Spry Lake Road between Bruce Rd. 13 and Bryant Street was closed for the investigation.
