SUV stuck in the ditch, driver blows way over

Grey Bruce OPP charged a 48-year-old Owen Sound man whose blood-alcohol level was more than double the legal limit, after finding his sport utility vehicle stuck in the ditch.

Police were called to single motor vehicle collision along the 2ndConcession, near Sideroad 22 in Meaford, at 7:25 p.m. Dec. 26. The driver failed a roadside breath test and then blow more than twice the legal limit under the Criminal Code back at the OPP detachment in Chatsworth, a police news release said Tuesday.

He’s charged with operation while impaired at 80 milligrams or more alcohol in 100 millilitres of blood. His driver’s licence was automatically suspended for 90 days and vehicle was impounded for seven days. He has a Feb. 18 court date.
