Vice President Janice Hewitt welcomed 13 members to the W. I. Zoom meeting on Wed, April 7 at 10a.m.

President Joyce Roach read the opening ode and the Mary Stewart Collect. Everyone answered the roll call by revealing their secret pal for 2019-21. Sandra MacDonald read the minutes of the March 3 meeting and Janice gave the Treasurer’s report. Janice also read several thank you notes and other correspondence was noted.
We then moved into the annual meeting and Betty Jean was nominated to act as secretary of this part of the meeting. Janice went over the past year’s balance sheet and noted that the membership fees and a donation to the food bank have to be sent in yet. Anyone still owing their fees should submit them. Janice also presented a proposed budget for 2021-22. The financial examiners reported that the treasurer’s books were in good shape. Islay Eby gave the PRO report and there was no activity re: Rose programs and Advocacy due to the Covid restrictions.
The Sunshine report was given by Mildred Griffith who has looked after this division for many years and we thank her for that. Mildred also presented the Tweedsmuir history report and asked for direction re: Where these volumes should be stored. Ellen Waye will assist with their delivery to the proper place.

Sandra read the list of new officers for 2021-22 and Betty Ann Thompson installed them. Joyce is Past President, Janice is President, Bev. Berndt 1st vice, Rose Weir, 2nd vice, Betty Jean secretary and Islay Treasurer. Janice made special mention to Mildred who has been a Bervie W. I. member since 1947 and who has done the Tweedsmuir history for many, many years. Janice thanked everyone for helping through this difficult year and making a difference in our community. Sandra & Janice were thanked for their many years as secretary and treasurer respectively.
The W. I. bylaws will be read at the May 5 meeting. $20 each will be given to (1) the Lee Heritage Preservation & Maintenance fund, (2) ACWW – 3 different divisions & (3) FWIO – Tweedsmuir (digitizing) fund – for a total of $100.00. Ellen Waye will host a plant sale at her home in Point Clark on May 22-24. The next meeting will be via Zoom on May 5. Joyce read the closing ode.
