The Owen Sound Attack selected Swiss defenceman Noah Delémont with their first and only pick in the 2020 CHL Import Draft Tuesday.
Delémont has a year of CHL experience under his belt. He played last season with the Acadie-Bathurst Titan after being selected by the Titan with the third-overall pick of the 2019 CHL Import Draft.
In 64 QMJHL games, the five-foot-ten blueliner scored three times and added 10 assists.
“He’s got good feet, he really does a good job on the offensive blue line. He moves pucks. He’s creative, and he’s got a real good selection from the offensive blue line,” said Attack GM Dale DeGray. “He should be a guy we can use on the power play. I think he’s going to fit in.”
Delémont was released by the Titan to make room for Czech goaltender Jan Bednar, who they selected with the second pick in Tuesday’s draft. DeGray was able to talk with former teammate and Titan GM Sylvain Couturier about Delémont before making the selection.
