While having a few key players out with injuries, the Markdale boys battled through adversity.

Their first game on Aug.11 was against Hanover. After regular time this game was tied 1-1.  Dejan Lukic scored the Markdale goal. The teams went into a five-person shoot out.  Aeson Uhrig stood tall in the Markdale net and Jason Gordon scored the winning goal as the sixth Markdale shooter.

Markdale won the game 2-1.

Markdale then defeated Durham/West Grey, 3-0, in Game 2 thanks in large part to a shut out from keeper Aeson Uhrig.

Lucas Dias, Aston Russell and Seth Swartz scored the Markdale goals.

The semi-finals were held on Sunday. Markdale faced Kincardine, and after a tight game, Markdale finished on top, 3-2.

Matthew Grootendorst notched a pair of goals while Seth Swartz bulged the twine.

Markdale met Kincardine again in the finals, and the result was no different.

Both teams fought hard, but Markdale came out with the win, 3-2 again, to win the Gold medal.

Matthew Grootendorst scored all three goals and sealed the clean sweep of the tournament.
